After nearly a half century since the great gold rush in the southern California mountains, there is still a story to be found in the early part of the last century. Finding the old roads and history was a great way to see the back county while riding in the new horseless carriages of the 20th century. Gold was discovered in the 1860's in Julian. The Model T was produced from 1909-1927.

This water-wise garden uses contrasting textures and colors to create an oasis in your back yard or patio. The soothing grays play off of the striking reds; the palm fronds contrast with the succulent ground covers and the combinations provide the environment needed to bring you back to nature.
